Banby Specialist Hospital was founded by Professor Bade Omololu, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, to help expand access to specialist medical and surgical care in Ibadan.
The hospital was established after seeing how many patients requiring specialist surgery faced long waits for treatment at the tertiary teaching hospital.
Banby was created to provide another pathway to specialist care by bringing professionals from different medical and surgical disciplines together in one hospital.
Today, Banby provides care across different stages of life, from childhood through older age, supported by doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists, radiographers, ultrasonographers and other healthcare professionals.
